The second thing first: We are apparently going to go out tomorrow instead of today because his nephew wanted to sleep over tonight. Note: what is up with guys who don’t have kids or visible baggage who nonetheless have weird family commitments? Apparently, I attract these guys. And yes, it means they are good people, and “cool” uncles and such, but JESUS what a pain in the ass! I didn’t much care, ultimately, and yes, I’d rather be with a guy who is a cool uncle than a guy who is a dick, BUT STILL.
As for the Dissiversary, I have officially been Dr. Crazy for 10 full years, as of today. This both makes me feel old (how can I have had a PhD for 10 Full Years?!?!?!) and also makes me feel very accomplished (I had a PhD at 28 years old, yo! In a notoriously long-time-to-degree field! I am impressive!)
I also realized that I missed my blogiversary, because now apparently I’ve been blogging so long that I just can’t bother to mark the years. Whatever: I’ll do the Life/Blog in Review Shit around my birthday next week.
I am going to go drink some (more) wine now.
Dr. Crazy in the hizzouse! Rocking the peeaitchdee!
I am a cool uncle to three nephews, and let me say that cool uncles are really cool. However, I have been informed by various young women that they need to be on the lookout for the guy who merely claims he is the child’s uncle. It is a bad sign if he is the “uncle” only in the Early-Modern-papal sense.
Happy Dissiversary and Blogiversary! (And darnit, I missed my 10-year dissiversary last year.)
Happy dissiversary! I refer to mine as my doctorversary, but it comes with a similar mixture of astonishment and accomplishment. Your blog is great! Cheers to you!
